One Year of Gaming Tweets

With thanks to Joystiq for the pointer, wanted to share an infographic created by Aggregame that visually shows one year of Twitter videogame-related chatter. Aggregame filtered over 28 million gamer tweets to find the top 150 commonly used words… found a few things interesting:

  • Xbox, PS3, and Wii rule the gaming platform roost – PC is much smaller
  • Modern Warfare, MW2, and Halo are all roughly the same
  • Kinect significantly larger than Move
  • Amazon pops up as being “game-relevant” – and not Gamestop

Anyway, take a look and enjoy!

Perhaps the PC is mentioned less because the gamers are too busy gaming to tweet? Plus people tend to talk about specific components of a PC system, rather than the PC as a platform.

I don’t know if I buy that, since it’s a lot easier to Tweet from a PC than from a console, for example… but this is one crystal ball I won’t try to read too closely. Not the most scientific of surveys. :)
